    Yes, an orbital can exist if there is no electron in it.
    e.g. When an outermost electron is excited by giving more energy it goes to higher energy level ,which can be an orbital which had no electrons earlier.
    e.g. During hybridisation ,sometimes,electrons from donor atom goses to a completely empty orbital.
